Challonge alternatives in 2026

What Challonge does well (and where it stops)

Challonge covers single and double elimination, round robin, Swiss, free-for-all and group stages. The free Standard plan is ad-supported with unlimited tournaments and up to 256 participants, and it takes paid registrations through Stripe. Premier ($6.99 a month billed yearly) removes ads, raises the limit to 512 and adds embeddable brackets with custom themes.

People look for alternatives when they want no ads on the free plan, an app instead of a website, court rotation and sit-outs for a club session, or tools built for team events or esports leagues.

1. Tournament Generator: for running courts, not just brackets

Tournament Generator is an app for iPhone, iPad and Android built for the organiser at the venue. Besides knockouts, it runs round robins with rotating or fixed doubles partners, Swiss, group stages and a Ladder, and when players outnumber court spaces it rotates sit-outs fairly. Players follow courts and the table on a live link or QR code in their browser, without an app or account.

There's no account and no ads, and it runs without a connection. Free covers Round Robin and Single Elimination for 8 players on 1 court; Pro (£2.99/month, £19.99/year or £39.99 lifetime (UK prices)) adds the other formats, unlimited players and up to 10 courts.

• No online sign-ups or payments: it's built for the organiser running the courts, not for registration.
• Results are entered on the organiser's phone; players can't enter their own scores.

2. Tournify: for big team tournaments

Tournify is a website for tournaments and leagues with a format and schedule tool, participant management, and a live website and slideshow. Amateur is free for up to 8 teams; World Class is €40 per event for up to 60 teams with branding, sponsors and publishing in the Tournify app; Legendary is €120 for unlimited teams.

3. Toornament: for esports

Toornament describes itself as everything you need for esports competitions, with all competition formats and 400+ games. The free plan allows up to 32 participants per tournament. A Boost is €19 per tournament (up to 128), Community is €19 a month billed annually (up to 256, with paid registrations and no fee), Circuit is €69 a month and Arena starts at €229 a month.

4. Score7: for a public results page

Score7 is an online tournament maker that says it's used by schools, sports clubs, esports communities and office events. It runs round robin, knockout, double elimination, Swiss and groups into a knockout. Every tournament gets a public page with a share link and QR code that updates as scores are saved, and viewers don't need an account.

You can create a tournament without an account and sign up to keep it. The free Starter plan carries Score7 branding and ads; Premium tiers add co-admins, auto-scheduling and website embedding.

5. Tourney: a bracket app for iPhone and iPad

Tourney - Tournament Maker runs single and double elimination, group stage, round robin, Swiss and a scorecard mode for up to 64 players or teams, with read-only spectator viewing. Core features are free with no ads; paid options start at $12.99 one-time or $14.99 a month. It's rated 4.5 from 466 ratings on the US App Store.

6. For a quick bracket: the free generator on this site
